- "Am I overtrained or undertrained or just right?"
- "Do I have all my equipment?"
- "Do I have enough food for the race?"
- "Am I mentally ready?"
- "I am nervous...am I the only one?"
- "Do I wear a hat or visor?"
- "Can we just start this thing?"
There are so many questions as an athlete but I have questions in my head as a spectator...
- "What time do I have to get up?"..."REALLY?"
- "Am I ready to be on my feet all day?"
- "Do I have enough sunscreen?" (It is suppose to be 93 degrees)
- "Can I get a run or a swim in during his bike?"
- "Where can I see Chris?" (Ironman AZ is a very friendly spectator course!)
- "Do I have enough digital photos in my camera?"
- "Where should I go for lunch?"
Since this has been my second time watching an Ironman...I am sure I will do fine. Truthfully, I am really looking forward to it. I am renting a mountain bike, so I can see Chris at different points of the run...that should be nice!!!
It is going to be a long day for both of us...but I have to say I am glad that I am on the spectator's end. I have come to terms that I will not be doing an Ironman for another couple of years and I am OK with that!!!
I will keep everyone posted on my day along with Chris's day of Ironman AZ. We also have an athlete, Jay, who will participating in the Ironman as well. Julie, his wife, will be asking herself those same questions...I am sure!
